SOLUTION: Use an empty alt attribute
If the text in the image is also presented as real text close by or does not add any new information, the alt tag needs to be included but should be empty. Instances that you should include an empty alt tag are:
- If the image is purely decorative
- If there is a caption that covers the same information
- If the copy near the image covers the same information
- If the image is "just a pretty picture" and serves no useful purpose.
